Preschool to first class
Louisiana's Children's Wing offers activities and instruction to children in preschool, after-school and recreational programs. The content is organized and the programs are conducted by Louisiana's arts facilitators at the Children’s Wing.
The dialogue-based lessons take place in the exhibitions and in the Children's Wing workshop. The active learning process enhances the children’s and young people’s encounter with modern art. The aim is to develop their analytical and critical skills and to inspire them to experience and reflect on the amazing world of art.
2-hour instructional session
A two-hour instructional session is an opportunity to work with modern art and active learning processes in an optimal environment.
In a dialogue with an arts facilitator and by sketching, the children immerse themselves in the experience of the artwork in the museum's collection and special exhibitions. In the workshop, they try using various materials and techniques used in the works they have seen so that the artwork becomes comprehensible through action and sensation.
The program is organized for preschool, after-school and recreational programs as well as primary and boarding schools up to the first class.
The lessons focus on creating active learning processes, where children engage in a dialogue about the artwork. The dialogue includes drawing exercises that help to deepen the experience of works of art. Afterwards, in the Children’s Wing workshop, they have an opportunity to try using the various materials and techniques on their own.
