Learning programmes

Here you will find descriptions of instructional programmes for 1-hour and 2-hour sessions for the second to tenth classes, secondary schools and teachers’ colleges. The session takes place in the exhibitions, but a 2-hour session may also include a workshop visit, where the participants have an opportunity to learn through making and express themselves creatively.

Louisiana Learning works in partnership with many primary schools, secondary schools and organizations on longer-term programmes. They offer an opportunity to work in depth and develop content together. Louisiana Learning is currently working with the partners shown below. If you have suggestions for exciting joint projects, we would like to hear from you.

Academy of Tal R

20.5.2017 - 10.9.2017

Over the past decade Louisiana Museum of Modern Art has established a distinctive collection of works – especially paintings – by the Danish artist Tal R (b. 1967). Academy of Tal R is a wide-ranging exhibition which for the first time offers an overview of the ...

... past 20 years’ active career.

Tal R is an artist who with apparent ease and considerable visual impact expresses himself freely across painting, drawing, collage, artist books and sculpture. His art may be tied to the material and content, but as a storyteller too he has had a keen eye from the outset for the neglected, hidden and marginalized spaces and for human beings in modern life. All that runs contrary to uniformity holds his interest as resources for his thinking and imagination.

One could say that Tal R's artworks function as a kind of portals for experience and emotions that can only be given meaning and fullness by the individual.

MARINA ABRAMOVIĆ – THE CLEANER

17.6.2017 - 22.10.2017

Marina Abramović is one of the seminal figures of body and performance art. With her body and her energy as her ...

... primary material, Abramović has established a radical, uncompromising practice while the works are not intimately concerned with herself as such. Often the works consist of very few elements or just a simple action that is not clearly tied to any one particular narrative or agenda.

Cleaning and purging, physically, mentally and symbolically, is a recurring theme, with tools as different as fire, screams, soapy water, minerals, time and silence. Catharsis, rites of passage and transformation are central concepts in the work, from the beginning and until now.
